~Working With A Photojournalist~2008 Featured Wedding Emily & Nick

Congrats to Emily & Nick who were married this June in beautiful Sarasota. I am writing this little side note for all the brides looking into Just Peachy & those who have up and coming weddings booked :). Emily & Nick were a wonderful couple for a photojournalist to work with because, well, they were very relaxed. Even if you are not a relaxed bride thats A ok :)... but please remember that you hired us to document your day. This is how Just Peachy has qualified for the awards received and the associations belonged too. Photojournalism requires clients to understand that we will unobtrusively cover the things that are REALLY happening during your day. We will not ask you to re do or make things up. Even during our portrait sessions we do lifestyle art which alot of times you are asked to simply "kiss," "talk," or "just be yourselves..." Emily & Nick were very trusting with their photography and it was wonderful to work around, we waited for the sunset and travelled around the beautiful estate. Although photojournalism does not allow detail photography unless it is "found that way" I do incorporate the details through fine art for all of my brides, which is a creative outlet for all the special details of your wedding day! All brides also receive an interest form to make sure they get the family portraits they would like as keepsakes. I look so forward to the summer weddings and those coming up in the fall! The new studio is now open downtown so come by for a consult or just stop in to say hi :). Unedited... The actual sunset! AMAZING!

Melina & Keith's (& Bailey too) Wedding

It was really exciting to be a part of Melina & Keith's big day. It was my first Greek wedding and I loved their traditions, so great to photograph too of course! Melina also has a maltese, like my baby Oliver, so I couldn't help but snap a few great shots of him :). The reception was at the harborview- beautiful sunset, and a surprise, some fireworks! Best wishes you two...Lots of dancing

Beth's Response to Engagement Photos!

Beth & Mike were too cute, but I had to share Beth's note after seeing her engagement photos this morning (see preview below)... She was so nervous for the pics, but luckily everything went just peachy :).

HOLY CRAP I LOVE THEM ALL!! I can't wait to go home tonight (from work) so that Mike and I can look at them together...not that I won't be looking at them all day (because I surely won't be working!). Anyway, I love the pictures and will let you know which one Mike and I would like for our 8x10. Thanks again! Beth

Beth & Mike's Engagement

This was quite an adventure for engagement photos... I had not been out to Brooksville before, but it made me feel like I was back home in Michigan :), especially with the football stadium! We did the football because Mike is a coach at the high school, then we traveled to his parents for a little boat ride out to an island, with picnic in hand! Here are some of my faves, I had a lot! Beth was afraid of sharks haha, but the water made for great photos!

Susie & Lee's Sarasota Wedding

It was a beautiful day in Sarasota, FL for Susie & Lee's wedding festivities, well a little warm, but whats Fla without the humidity :). Susie was a beautiful bride... and the wedding party was fabulous to photograph! Here are some of my favorite shots. Jaqueline & Doug's (Almost Rainy) Engagement Shoot!

Here comes the FL weather :)... We visited Sand key Beach in Clearwater for a summery engagement session. Jacqueline & Doug were total sports for their session and have two totally opposite backdrops... We have the lovely sunset and the storm cloud on the other side, but all in all it was a fun photo op!

6th In the WORLD!

I cannot even begin to express my excitement~ The Artists Guild of the Wedding Photojournalism Association has awarded me with three awards. Two of which are 6th place in the world! This was a lifetime goal of mine, and to reach it this early is beyond words. I am so greatful for this gift, and look forward to capturing many more moments at all of my upcoming events and weddings! Thanks to all of my supporters and wonderful brides :).

Jessica and Shawn's wedding is next month, July... We were originally going to do some maternity photos last fall, but then SURPRISE... Evan arrived early :). He is adorable and very fun to photograph! Here are some of my favorite shots from their engagement shoot.

Wedding Season!

So its been kinda crazy hectic last month, May, and this month just starting... June. This is Just Peachy's mega wedding season! I have loved so many of the weddings I have been to these past few months, so many fabulous couples. Thank you to everyone who let me share my love for art and capture your big day!
